Art of Resilience
3rd Open Call - ScArt
Ever felt bored and not in the mood to do anything? Felt overwhelmed without having the energy to get out of bed to do anything? Ever been so tired you didn’t feel like meeting your friends or tired of doing what you love the most? Has your life ever seemed like a trap? Most probably, you have faced ongoing stress or frustration with no chance to really relax and recharge. Burnout can and does affect young people. Art and science can help to "burn out" stress in the online world too.
On this virtual residency programme, we will learn about burnout and how to cope with it in online and offline environments. For this, we call on arts and science! During the four online workshops, we will cover topics such as stress and emotions, lifestyle and energy, love and passion, or resilience and planning. The workshops start with a short presentation on the topic, then continue with a facilitated small group discussion, and we will express progress through artworks.
Do you feel the motivation to write out, draw out, photoshoot out, paint out, burn out the stress that has been building up inside you together with your Italian, Greek, Irish and Hungarian peers? Or the motivation for anything? No? One more reason to apply for the third residency circle of our ScArt project!
We are looking for young people aged between 16 and 30 years. No advanced digital skills or previous similar experiences are required, but applicants should have a deep desire to exchange and learn from international peers.
The residency will be held in person in Venice (IT), Bari (IT), Dublin (IE), Lesvos (GR) and Budapest (HU) during a 4 hour afternoon event where participants will work locally in groups and then gather online with international mates to share the final outcomes.
A good English level is highly recommended to interact with young people from other countries. However, in case it is needed, we can provide French, Italian, Greek and Hungarian translations.
Deadline for applications (extended!): January 24, 2023
Event date: January 26, 2023
