Graduate in Cultural Economics and Entrepreneurship at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Carlo Ferretti is the Research and Innovation Officer of Materahub, a European Hub for the support and development of the Cultural and Creative industries, based in the South of Italy. Here, he investigates the relation among arts, technology and business, as well as methodologies for the development of the CCIs, as the socio-cultural impact evaluation and the data strategy for culture. In this regard, he is author of several researches on the topic of the immaterial value of culture and arts, along with the research conducted with Materahub on the impact of Silent City, a co-creative opera produced during the European Capital of Culture 2019.
Affiliate to Metalab Harvard, he investigates the potentiality of technology in relation to art and culture, to new media art and computational art. In this regard, with his local organization Arti in Libertà , Bari, he produces and curates the artistic direction of several formats of research and entertainment related to the arts & technology, as FAIL, a festival on new media art and new music.
In addition, he collaborates with Cultura Italiae and the Ministry of Culture as researcher for the mapping and analysis of the cultural and creative industries in Italy.
Finally, he collaborates with the Social Innovation Department of Bari in the role of Urbact Researcher and Assistant of the Mayor Staff Manager.
